A New Year

I am finally finished with the bulk of my dissertation. This allows me to diversify my interests and time into other writing projects. I finally have some energy to put back into this project and hopefully get some things going again.

To that end, I have designed a brief (5 question) survey for the readers of this blog. If you could take a few moments to fill it, I would appreciate it. This will help me focus my energy and writing into the most needed areas.

Hi my name is Marissa and I live in Albuquerque and have taken the LISW 3 times and last time missed it by 2 questions. I was wondering if anyone has any advise to help me pass. I have ordered the practice exams from AATBS the first time, but didn't use them again the last time.

I see that you are considering charging to view your exam study information. You see, that is the very reason I choose your sight, because I could see what material you were presenting without having to pay for it first. We students have no extra money to pay for sights that are useless and you are providing something important to society without cost-you should be proud of your accomplishment. I hope you seperate yourself from this greedy society and offer the site at no cost. So many people without money will benefit from your kindness.

Can anyone tell me if on the exam do I have the opportunity to skip a question and go back to it or must I answer each question in turn? with that can I go through the test prior to submitting?

I am scheduled for March 20, first attempt with hopes of it being the ONLY attempt since my agency pays for the first try!!

Has anyone taken the jurisprudence online exam recently? What is the best resource to use to find the answers? I took a course over 11 years ago and they won't accept it.

Thanks

This is an great site. We should help the author by recommending it to other social workers. I find the site helpful beyond words.

The information that you provided here was a God-send! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your helpful hints with all who happen upon your site. I took the online practice exam through the ASWB and used that as a guideline for what I needed to study most and then used your information. Took the exam today and passed.

Thanks so much!

Maybe instead of charging for study materials you could get a group together (people that are emailing you?)or who are posting looking for joint study to each take one section or piece of a section of review information and summarize it for posting on the site. That way you would only have to edit the material rather than create all yourself. Just an idea. :)

I am a tutor for the LCSW test, and one of the most important things, is memorizing your vocab. words, your theories, theorists, and know your diagnosis. These are the things, on the test, that you need for instant recall.
YOu don't need all kinds of notes, for studying, use word clusters, or Inspiration Software has a free trial for 6 weeks, use it for organizing your study material

Hi, I just found your blog and I appreciate your help in this area. I am in the BA program for psychology and my employer wants me to get the MA in Social Work and then become a LCSW. I am nervous but very excited!

I have been a Therapeutic Foster Parent for 14 years and I hope to do more in the future with foster children, so I need my degree.

I am almost 44 years old and still have a long way to go, but I love the encouragement of others and your site is very helpful. Thank you again.

Hello,
I just wanted to say thanks for this blog- I'm not sure if you still check in or not! I used it as part of my study process, and am happy to report that I passed my LCSW exam this morning on my first attempt- such a relief! Good luck to all who are in the process, and believe in yourself that you can do it!
